Before

View of a backyard garden with green lawn, various plants, trees, and shrubs, bordered by brick walls and neighboring houses under cloudy sky, and a patio with potted plants and outdoor furniture.
A colorful garden with purple, pink, and white flowers along a stone and wooden fence, with a grassy lawn and a wooden structure in the background.

This garden was designed for a client who wanted to welcome as much nature as possible into their outdoor space, while still creating a garden that feels thoughtful, practical, and beautiful. The planting was carefully chosen to support pollinators throughout the seasons, allowing the garden to act as a valuable stopover for wildlife moving through the urban landscape.

Clay pavers ground the design with warm, natural tones, offering a durable and low-maintenance surface that will age gracefully over time. A pergola forms a peaceful place to sit at the end of the day, surrounded by planting and alive with birds and pollinators, while an outdoor kitchen encourages cooking and gathering in the garden.

Pleached trees provide privacy without enclosing the space, helping the garden feel open, calm, and connected to nature, a small but meaningful haven within the city.

Testimonials

“We have a wonderful garden created by Monika. The planting and colours are beautiful and most importantly they attract a wide range of insects, birds and butterflies. Our favourite thing though is the movement Monika has  generated with her use of grasses and tall  planting. It’s a delight.”
